What the first week looks like

Complete the diagnostic

Your child begins with the 30–40 minute diagnostic. They can pause and return if they need a break.

Review the report

As soon as the diagnostic is complete, you can see the overall result, four math-area scores, and the full skill map. On the rare session with too little evidence for a reliable score, the report says so and includes a free retake instead.

Try the personalized practice path

Your child can begin working on the priorities identified by the diagnostic in sessions of approximately 10–20 minutes.

Use Ori when help is needed

Your child can ask Ori for support on any problem and see a clear explanation afterward.

Decide whether Helix is useful for your family

You have access to the complete program during the trial. Cancel before the trial ends and you will not be charged.

Frequently asked questions

Which grades does Helix support?

Helix is designed for families with students in grades 3–8. Its skill map can look across multiple grade levels because current difficulties are sometimes connected to an earlier prerequisite.

Does my child need a MAP score to use Helix?

No. Helix completes its own diagnostic and builds the practice path from those results. If your child takes MAP at school, the Helix report can add skill-level detail to the broader information you already have. It does not replace or reproduce the official MAP result.

Is this official MAP preparation?

No. Helix is not affiliated with or endorsed by NWEA and does not sell simulated MAP tests. Helix provides targeted practice on the underlying math skills that broad assessments measure.

What happens during the seven-day trial?

The complete program is available: the diagnostic, full skill map, personalized daily practice, Ori, and the parent progress view.

What happens after the diagnostic?

Helix uses the results to create your child’s initial practice path. The program continues adapting that path as your child completes problems and demonstrates more consistent understanding.

Does the diagnostic have to be completed in one sitting?

No. Progress is saved, so your child can pause and return later. The complete report becomes available after the diagnostic is finished.

How much time does daily practice take?

Most sessions are designed to take approximately 10–20 minutes.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. You can cancel through Manage Billing in your parent dashboard. Cancelling stops the next payment and keeps access open until the end of any period you have already paid for.

Is Helix a replacement for school or tutoring?

No. Helix is a supplemental program designed to help families identify specific skill priorities and provide focused practice at home.

Can my child retake the diagnostic?

Yes. If a session gathers too little evidence, the report says so and includes a free retake. To re-measure after a stretch of practice, email hello@helixmath.com and we will reset the diagnostic for a fresh run.

What if I have a question or something goes wrong?

Email hello@helixmath.com. A person reads and answers every message — not a ticket queue.
